CONSTITUTION: A rapeseed refuse is treated in wet heat, e.g. under adjusted conditions of the amount of water, temperature, and time, in an antoclave, cooker, desolventizer toaster, or meal dryer, to give the desired feed having an alkali-soluble nitrogen index of 40W50, which corresponds to an oxazolidinethione content 2/3 or less of the original one and an available lysine content of 80% or more.
