Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to simplify counting mechanism of frame number of film, to improve counting speed, and to simplify film loading, by arranging that a photoelectric conversion device receives reflected light from film surface, and when the projected light passes through the perforation of film the device does not receive any reflected light.
CONSTITUTION: A light of light source 4 is introduced through optical fiber 8, and the light is projected to the perforation belt of film 6 through both ends of branched fibers 8a and 8b. When the film is moving, the projected light is reflected at the film surface and passes through perforations 7a and 7b. The light received at photoelectric conversion devices 5a and 5b, therefore, becomes a constant output wave. This output wave is displayed at display section through a pulse shaping section, dividing circuit and pulse counting circuit. Moreover, by the phase of output wave produced at both photoelectric conversion devices 5a and 5b, the direction of film movement (positive or negative) can be detected.
