Abstract

PURPOSE:To regulate spring constant and matural frequency by enabling arbitrary positioning of a damper mass on a cantilever type damper spring, and to adjust damping coefficient by utilizing a damper effected by eddy-current loss. CONSTITUTION:A tool box 3 is fitted to the free end of a ram 2 supported by a column 1, and a cantilever type damper spring 4 is fixed to one end of the tool box 3. A damper mass 5 is fitted slidably on the damper spring 4. A permanent magnet 6 is so fitted by a magnet holder 7 as to generate a uniform magnetic field in the space 9 between itself and the side surface of the ram 2. Planar conductors 8 are fitted to the damper mass 5 in such a manner as to cross the magnetic field in the space 9.
