Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution of the peripheral equipment for the character pattern generating device incorporating the memory device by storing not only the character information of the address region allotted to one character into the memory device but the effective information into the peripheral equipment.
CONSTITUTION: The character pattern generating device incorporates character pattern memory device 3 which allots the plural continuous address regions to the character pattern forming one character and address counter 2 which reads the character pattern out of the head address memorized in the character pattern of prescribed one character. In such device, the continuous addresses memorize one character pattern in character picture element region A of device 3, and at the same time start address conversion part B is provided at the blank picture element region to store the effective in formation for the peripheral equipment. Then the reading is continued via start address conversion part 1 until no information exists in the head address of region A, and then the address is renewed to read out the character pattern.
