Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide temperature controller for fuel of a pump in a fuel injection system which can prevent the amount of fuel injection from varying in response to a change of temperature of fuel by constituing same such that temperature of fuel in the pump in the fuel injection system is held at a constant level.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel passage 2 for fuel from an overflow valve 1, for example, of a VE pump. is connected, by way of a three-way cock 3, to a passage 5 for returning fuel to a fuel filter 4 and to another passage 7 for returing fuel to a fuel tank 6. The three-way clock 3 constituted such that it allows the fuel passage 2 to commuincate switchably to the passage 5 or 7 automatically depending upon the temperature of fuel in the pump, using a bimetal and so on. At a normal temperature of fuel, fuel coming out from the valve 1 is returned to the fuel filter 4, and if fuel temperature is raised, fuel from the valve 1 is returned to the fuel tank 6 to thereby lower the temperature at the entrance of the pump whereby fuel in the pump is held at a constant level of temperature.
