Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:An amino acid of formula I (n is 0 or 1).
EXAMPLE: α-Amino-γ-nitroamino-n-butyric acid of formula II.
USE: Antibiotics and antimetabolite enzyme inhibitors.
PROCESS: The amino acid of formula I is extracted from basidiomycetes having the ability to produce the amino acid with an aqueous solvent. Agaris subrutilescens (Kauffm.) Hotson et stuntz Agaris bisporus, and (Agaris compestris) may be cited as the basidiomycetes.
