Abstract
PURPOSE: To elevate the rolling yield rate by performing the work by the composition depth depending upon the degree of the surface flaw, in case of hot scarfing of the surface of the hot billet which has been subject to blooming rolling.
CONSTITUTION: In case of hot scarfing of the rough angle billet, the O2 gas pressure of the supply pipes 11, 21, 31 is made same as the gas pressure of the oxygen pipe 7 or 8 for the upper face or the lower face scarfing, and also it is made the setting pressure as 1/2 and 1/3 of this gas pressure, by adjusting the regulating valves 12, 22, 32 depending upon the degree of the surface defect generation state on both sides to the upper and lower faces. And the suitable gas pressure supply pipe among the supply pipes of O2 gas pressure consisting of different stages is selected depending upon the flaw state on the sides. In order to perform the aforesaid selection, the electromagnetic valves 14, 24, 34 of the O2 gas supply pipes are changed in advance by the electrical circuit constitution, based upon checking result of defect generation at the part of steel ingot. Accordingly, for instance, in case the scarfing is carried out by turning ON the valve 24 only and turning OFF the valves 14 and 34, and the defect degree on both the sides is varied, it is changed to other suitable supply pipe.
