Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the reliability, linearity and life of a spectrophotometer by rotating a bidirectional rotary pulse motor driving a variable dimmer by a drive pulse counted by a reversible counter to thereby electronically control the entirety. CONSTITUTION:The rectified output from a synchronous rectifier 26 is applied to a drive pulse generator 46 to generate a positive going drive pulse 73 or negative going drive pulse 75 according to the polarity of an error signal 27 or no pulse at all. The pulses 73 and 75 are applied reversible counter 48 and drive circuit 54, respectively. Accordingly, a pulse motor 44 is reversibly rotated, for example, in 4- phase, 1-2 phases exciting type by the drive output 55 of the drive circuit 54. When the blade 40 connected to the motor 44 is moved, the light of the dimmer 14 is controlled, and counted by the counter 48.
