Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method of constructing retaining wall in use of concrete panels, according to which a panel block having a hollow square section is formed by fixing a back panel at the rear end of buttresses for the panel block, whereby strength of the retaining wall to torsional moment can be increased considerably.
CONSTITUTION: Buttress panels 3, 3' of concrete are fixed in parallel at the opposite end portions of front concrete panel 1, and a rear panel 2 shaped in the same form as front panel 1 is fixed at the rear ends of buttress panels 3, 3', thereby forming a panel block having a hollow square cross section. Steel flat-bars 4 are used for connecting these panels 1, 2, 3, 3' to each other. In constructing a retaining wall, a number of such panel blocks are arranged such that buttress panels 3, 3' of adjacent panel blocks are placed in side-by-side relationship with each other, and then mortar 6 is poured into the space formed between the adjacent buttress panels 3, 3' to unite them firmly with each other.
