Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically correct the distortion in white balance due to time aging of the drive performance of a receiving tube for several horizontal scanning periods which reside in the vertical scanning period for the beginning and the end of the luminance signal.
CONSTITUTION: During several horizontal scanning period at the beginning and end of the vertical scanning period of luminance signal, white signal is inserted to the video output circuit 24 from the white signal insertion circuit 20, and after detecting the cathode current of three primary colors around the white level of the three primary electron gun of the receiving tube, each cathode current is gated with the white signal at the gate circuits 30∼31, the low frequency component of the cathode current of three primary colors obtained is picked up from the filters 33∼35, and the reference voltage equal to the Ik ratio representing the white signal is subtracted from the subtraction circits 40 and 41 from the value that one primary color cathode current is taken as reference and other two primary color cathode currents are divided at the division circuits 40 and 41 respectively, and negative feedback is made to the video output circuit 24 with the amplification factor control signal obtained.
