Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify a structure and to improve safety, by combining together a cell unit, a heater, and an electric supply means.
CONSTITUTION: Above a cell unit 11 in a lower case 10 are located a heater comprising a Nichrome wire 5 in a fine spiral stretched across terminals 3 and 4, and a carbon base 1 having side walls 2 and 2' whereat an electric supply means comprising upper and lower contacts 7 and 6 being energized in an opening direction by means of a fine wire spring 8 is situated. Furthermore, a upper case 12 provided with a cigarette inserting hole 13 is mounted thereon. When a cigarette 14 is inserted through the cigarette inserting hole 13, the upper contact 7 is brought in contact with the lower contact 6, and as a result electricity is charged to the Nichrome wire 5 from the cell unit 11. The Nichrome wire 5 can thus be heated and light an edge of the cigarette 14. This eliminates the need for a lighter flint, a file screw, a flame adjustment means, an opening and closing lid, etc.
