Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a printer which is less expensive and composed of the reduced number of components by making it in such a construction that printing, shifting, shift setting, paper carriaging are conducted by the positive and negative rotation of an electric motor; furthermore, that characters can be printed without hammers.

CONSTITUTION: A gear 47 is turned in the direction of H through gears 43W46, and gears 53 and 54 are turned when a selection gear 48 engages with a gear 50. A timing signal corresponding with a character signal on a printing type belt 58 is made to generate from a timing detection panel 57. This signal is to be received by an external control circuit to activate a trigger electromagnet 59 in the printing position of the printing type, and the electromagnet is so arranged that it is attracted to the side of a gear 47 to turn this gear in the direction of H. When current that has been applied to the electromagnet 59 is cut as the boss 591 of the electromagnet operates, the rotation of the motor 41 is made to continue while the type belt 58 remains stationary, and the selection gear 48 is turned half round to operate a cum 63 and a printing lever 64, thus print characters on recording paper 65.
