PURPOSE:To make it possible that light beam of wide wavelength band is by simple operation detected accurately by means of conbination of non-aberrational concave diffraction grating and self-scan photodetector. CONSTITUTION:Light beam from light source 1 is condensed by condenser lens 4, passes through sample cell 5 and incident slit 6, and illuminates non-aberrational concave diffraction grating 7 so as to be diffused by the illuminated grating 7. Diffused light beam from the grating 7 impinges on self-scan photodetector 8 located at focus plane 16 so that light beam of a particular wavelength band is detected. When diffraction grating mount 10 is turned, the concave diffraction grating 7 is also turned so that light beam of other wavelength band impinges on the photo- detector 8.
