Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and noises by cutting off an idling current flowing to an output amplifier when no signal or a fine signal flows. CONSTITUTION:The hearing aid composed principally of microphone 201, pre- amplifier 202, output amplifier 203, and a speaker or earphone 204 is provided with decision circuit 205 which compares the output of pre-amplifier 202 with a preset level, and current control circuit 206 which cuts off a current flowing to output amplifier 203, or speaker or earphone 204 by the signal of circuit 205 when the output of pre-amplifier 202 is lower. Therefore, any current does not flow to amplifier 203 at all when no signal flows or the signal level is very small.
