Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an air-flow branching damper means for use in an air conditioning duct system having a main coduit and a branch conduit, which is capable of controlling the air-flow rate to be branched in correct, swift and simple manner.
CONSTITUTION: Main damper 28 capable of turning about pin 27 at a position facing branching port 26 is disposed at a air-flow branching portion of main conduit 24 and branch conduit 25 at a position located upwardly of the branching port 26 of branch conduit 25, and a branching damper 30 is provided to be capable of turning about pin 29 which is disposed on the branching plane of port 26. In fully closing the main conduit 24, damper 28 is held in a position making an angle of about 45 degrees to the direction of air flow toward the main conduit 24. In fully opening the main conduit 24, on the other hand, it is held in a position where it is parallel to the direction of flow of intake air 20. When these dampers 28, 30 are held in positions shown in the drawing, about half of intake air is branched into branch conduit 25. However, under the state that damper 28 is positioned to fully close main conduit 24 and damper 30 is positioned in parallel with the main damper 28, intake air is wholly branched into branch conduit 25.
