Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a flocked adsorbent with enhanced adsorbing capacity by bonding fibrous activated carbon pile flocked on a substrate by flocking and fibrous activated carbon pile flocked newly and electrically, using a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:Adhesive 2 is coated on substrate 1, and fibrous activated carbon pile 3 with a diameter of 3-30mu, a length of 0.5-10mm and a specific surface area of 300-1500m<2>/g is flocked on substrate 1 by a suitable method using high voltage static electricity or the like. Thermoplastic resion 4 with an average grain size of 10-150 mesh is uniformly dispersed on adhesive 2, heat melted, and cooled. Fibrous activated carbon pile 5 is further flocked using high voltage static electricity, and resin 4 is melted again and cooled to bond pile 5 to pipe 3 flocked on substrate 1. Thus, the amt. of fibrous activated carbon flocked is increased to enhance the adsorbing capacity of the resulting flocked adsorbent.
