Abstract
PURPOSE: To reproduce a picture of high quality with a good focusing characteristic, by means of placing a permanent magnet to be sealed in the neck portion of the cathode ray tube and eliminating a generation of air gap, likely for a leakage flux to be produced, between the permanent magnet and the magnetic adjuster plate.
CONSTITUTION: In the interior of a neck portion 1 of multi-electron beam cathode ray tube, is provided a cylindrical shape permanent magnet 10. The above permanent magnet 10 is magnetized in the direction of center axis Z of the neck portion 1. A magnetic flux from the permanent magnet 10 is concentrated almost by a magnetic adjuster plate 11, with a leakage flux made not generated in other portion, and the magnetic field is generated only in the interior where the magnetic adjuster plate 11 is facing each other. In this way, almost without any component of leakage flux to outside, a nearly uniform focusing field can be generated.
