Abstract
PURPOSE: To readily obtain the reflector which combines prism system and bead system by parallel disposing a multiplicity of pyramidal protrusions on the inside surface of one mold and fitting beads having reflecting films on the back in the multiple semi-spherical recesses dispersed in the inside surface of the other mold with respect to the reflector which is used for road signals, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Multiple pyramidal protrusions 3 are parallel disposed on the inside surface of the first mold 1 so as to form reflecting surfaces of triangular pyramidal prism form reflectors. The other second mold 2 which mates with this mold by way of a parting line 4 is made in tray form and a plurality of small-diameter concave semi-spherical faces 7 are so formed in the bottom 6 thereof as to scatter. The semi- spheres 10 having a radius approximately equal to the radius of the abovementioned semi-spherical faces 7 and curved surface bodies 11 forming convex faces having a radius larger than that of concave semi-spherical faces 7 on the opposite side thereof are integrally formed and the beads formed with reflecting films 9 on the concave curved faces thereof are fitted into the concave semi-spherical faces. The abovementioned both molds 1, 2 are mutually mated and the molten resin having been heated is injected through the injection hole formed along the parting line 4 thereof, after which is the resin is cooled to set to eliminate the fear for dislodging of the beads, whereby the reflector is obtained.
