Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a dot printer which has a common driving source and can avoid unnecessary ribbon feed operations by feeding an ink ribbon between a printing base and pressing heads linking with the reciprocating motions of a carriage in the printing direction. CONSTITUTION:One spool holder 15a is driven to a ribbon winding direction by a pulse motor 10, which is a carrier driving means, and an ink ribbon 18 is fed intermittently to the left as shown in the figure linked with the movement of a carrier 4. therefore, there is no need to provide a driving source to feed the ink ribbon 18 and the construction is simplified. As the ribbon is fed by the carrier driving means, the ribbon is fed only when the carrier is moved, and so unnecessary ribbon feed is avoided and the ribbon feed is stopped while a wire dot heat 6 is in contact with a printing base 2, therefore, the lift of the ink ribbon 18 is increased.
