Abstract

PURPOSE:To smoothly transmit motive power from a rotary shaft to another rotary whose axis intersects that of the former, by providing a motive power transmission device wherein one member of a universal joint is coupled to the former rotary shaft and another member of the joint is coupled to a pulley or the like and by mounting a bearing on a side of the pulley to restrict the bending angle of the joint. CONSTITUTION:The inner member 23 of the universal joint is coupled to a rotary shaft 21, the torque of which is transmitted to the outer member 26 of the joint through a ball 24. The pulley 27 is coupled to the outside of the outer member 26. The torque is transmitted by a V-belt to another pulley 34 mounted on another rotary shaft 36 whose axis intersects that of the former rotary shaft 21. The inclination of the pulley 27 is restricted by a casing 31. Since the bearing 32 is provided between the pulley 27 and the casing 31, the pulley is smoothly rotated.
