Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the prevention of double feed of blanks without use of double feed detection means and to moderate the restrictions on the thickness and the light transmission factor of the blanks, the presence or absence of prints and/or writings on the surfaces of the blanks, and the like.

CONSTITUTION: When a double feed hsd occurred, that is, a blank 1b not to be fed is dragged out of a feeder table 2 while being deviated in the feed direction from a blank 1a to be fed, and the lowermost blank 1a has reached a detection means 17, a blank stopper 13 moves to press the surface of the blank 1a. Although the second blank 1b is fed while dragged after the blank 1a, the blank 1b collides with the stopper 13 and is stopped in situation or is stopped after forming a loop as shown in the figure. The blank 1a is fed to an information reader or the like by a feed roller 8. After the completion of the information reading or the like for the blank 1a, the stopper 13 is raised and the blank 1b is fed forth. Thus, the double feed of the blanks is prevented.
