Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent direct blowing-through of gas at the restraint lightening part of a catalytic vessel by inserting an intermediate plate between the upper and the lower perforated plates and fixing the periphery of the intermediate plate with at least one of the upper and the lower shells. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate plate 17 is interposed between the flanges 8a and 9a of the upper and lower perforated plates 8 and 9 of a catalytic vessel 6, and the intermediate plate 17 is fixed at least on one of the flanges 2a and 3a of the shells 2 and 3 of a casing 1. The flanges 8a and 9a are interposed slidably between the flanges 2a and 3a of the casing 1 in order to lighten the thermal deformation of the catalytic vessel 6, but as the intermediate plate 17 exists, gas does not pass through the interior of the catalytic vessel 6, and the direct flow of gas from the sliding surface to an exit is prevented.
