Abstract

PURPOSE: To save the power through an automatic cut-off of the power supply for the video signal regenerator of the television or the like by detecting the nonexistence of the video signal.
CONSTITUTION: The existence of video signal (a) sent from vdieo signal generator 2 is detected, and control signal (b) is produced according to the detection result of the video signal and through video signal detection circuit 1. With such circuit 1 along with switch 3 which cuts off the power supply to genertor 2 via signal (b), the automatic stop circuit is formed. The cut-off time point can be set simultaneously with detection of nonexistence of signal (a) or to an optional point after time T. And usually the cut-off time point is set after 30∼60 seconds from detection of the nonexistence of signal (a) in order to avoid the power cut-off every time when the channels are switched or the transmission is discontinued temporarily at the transmission side.
