Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyamide composition having improved dispersibility of additives and moldability capable of giving molded articles with an excellent surface gloss, by polymerizing a mixture of a higher fatty acid amide and an aqueous solution of caprolactam with a specific concentration.
CONSTITUTION: 0.01W30 wt.% of a compound of formula I or II: (R1 and R4 are 10W30C hydrocarbon groups; R2 and R3 are H or methyl goups, etc.; n is an integer 1W10), e.g. N,N'-distearoyl-ethylenediamine, is dispersed in a ≥50 wt.% aqueous solution of caprolactam by means of a stamping mill. The dispersion is polymerized by batchwise method to give the desived composition.
