Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform stable regeneration free from regeneration specks within a short time with a relatively small amount of regenerating liquid by circulating and passing the regenerating liquid through the used ion exchange materials outside the ion exhange material packed tower then regenerating.
CONSTITUTION: Regenerating liquid of a tank 2 is passed through the ion exchange materials whose specified ions have attained permissible concentration by supplying the same to an ion exchange material packed tower 1 through pipes 15 and 13 and circulating the same to the tank 2 through pipes 12, 16 and 17. At this time, the concentrations at which the ions to be removed can coexist are kept at 1/2 or under, preferably 1/5 or under in the ions eluted in the regenerating liquid/regenerated ions so that the specified ion concentration in the regenerating liquid does not increase. Then, the space velocity in a column for the ion exchange materials of the regenerating solution may be increased, the regeneration reaction progressed nearly simultaneously and the regeneration free from regenerating specks by the less regenerating liquid accomplished.
