Abstract

PURPOSE: To a powder or solution of urokinase that is used as a remedy for cerebral thrombosis are added dextran sulfate and an inert protein, thus stabilizing the urokinase and increasing the formability in the preparation process.
CONSTITUTION: To urakinase are added, as stabilizers, (A) dextran sulfate and (B) an inert protein. The most effective dextran sulfate in the stabilization of urokinase is its sodium salt. The average molecular weight is desirably in the range from 103 to 106 and preferably from 1500 to 80,000. The sulfur content is 1W30, preferably 2W15%. The inert protein means protein that has no activity of enzyme or hormon, such as gelatin. They are added by 0.1W50mg/103PU of (A) and 0.01W 30mg/PU of (B) in the extraction and purificastion processes and 0.1W10mg/103PU of (A) and 0.31W5mg/103PU in the preparation process.
