Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain smooth gear engagement at a time of power transmission in a device which has a driving and a driven gears, and power can be delivered or interrupted selectively between them. CONSTITUTION:A driving gear 12, whose teeth 11a towards circumference are removed to be 11b, is fixed to a driving shaft 12 and a driven gear 16 is fixed to a driven shaft 19. An idler lever 17 is attached to the driven lever 19 in a way to sway freely. On the idler lever 7 in a way to rotate freely by a shaft 19 is an intermediate gear 15 which always is in engagement with the driven gear 16 and in selective engagement with the driving gear 11. A spring 21 pulls the idler lever to the direction of a until the lever position is set by a stopper 22. This construction permits smooth gear engagement because pressure between teeth on different gears at the moment of contact can be temporarily released.
