Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent accumulation of solid components in greige goods to both surfaces of a rolled strand or direct roving in the roll axial core direction by drying the strand or roving while covering both surfaces with evaporation preventing plates or films to prevent evaporation of water in the goods.
CONSTITUTION: The whole of under surface 1B of rolled direct roving 1 is covered with evaporation preventing plate 2B such as Al plate with the roll axial core in the longitudinal direction. On the other hand, the whole of upper surface 1A is covered with evaporation preventing plate 2A such as Al plate provided with film 3 such as paper of low heat conductivity on the under side and weights 4 on the upper side. A number of covered rolls A to be dried are heat dried by blowing hot air while being moved in a drying furnace (not shown). Evaporation of water from surfaces 1A, 1B is prevented by plates 2A, 2B, and hence no high concn. part is formed around surfaces 1A, 1B.
