Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the error position of the block code at the decision circuit and via the syndrome in which the row and column of the block code never become O, and then to carry out the error correction with use of the parity bit. CONSTITUTION:The syndrome S21, S23 and S22 are set for each of, for example, 3 lines of one block of the information bit; and syndrome S11, S12, S13 ... S1K are set for each of the K columns respectively. In this case, syndrome S21, S23 and S22 become O if no error exists at each row; and syndrome S11-S1K become O in case no error exists at each column respectively. The error position of the block code is detected at decision circuit COM and via the syndrome of the row and column which never become O. And thus the error is corrected via the parity bit.
