Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a bumper from deforming, by dividing the ornamental bumper into several divisions, each being overlapped with each other and absorbing the difference of thermal expansion between the ornamental bumper and the resin bumper at the laps.
CONSTITUTION: The ornamental bumper D is composed of side divisions 1a covering the upper wall of a bumper side 3 of the resin bumper R and a center division 1b covering the upper wall of a center bumper 4 being put between the side divisions 1a. Both ends of the center division 1b is overlapped 2 with ends of the side divisions 1a. Both side divisions 1a are fixed to the resin bumper R by means of concealed bolts. The center division 1b has hooks 7 on both ends, one being hung upon the center end of the resin bumper and the other upon a clip 8 formed on the shoulder of the resin bumper R.
