Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heater which allows the quick boiling of water by heat alone without generation of flame and gas with generation thereof under weather conditions whatsoever employing igniting and heating agents with a specified blending. CONSTITUTION:An igniter 2 comprises a pipe 8 made of an inorganic fiber such as glass fiber and asbestos fiber filled under pressure with an igniting agent composed of 2-7% by weight of amorphous boron, 83-98% of barium chromate and optionally 10% by weight of aluminum oxide, a fuse 5, with one end extended outward and the other end imbedded into an igniting agent 7, and the agent 7. A heating agent 3 is composed of 70-92% by weight of iron oxide III, 8-30% by weight of magnesium and optionally 30% by weight of aluminum oxide and is so arranged to contact the igniting agent 7 filling an inner case under the pressure. With such an arrangement, the igniting agent accurately ignites the heating agent to accomplish the reaction completely.
