Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the title steel plate by finishing hot rolling of steel contg. a specified amt. of C and Mn at a temp. in the ferrite+austenite two phase coexisting zone followed by immediate quenching. CONSTITUTION:Hot rolling of steel contg. C 0.03-0.10%, Mn 1.0-1.7%, Ni 0.03-0.20%, Si<1.0%, Cu 0.1-0.35%, P 0.01-0.15%, S<0.03% and Al< 0.10% is finished at 720-800 deg.C. In this temp. range two phases of ferrite and austenite coexist in case of the above C and Mn contents. The hot rolled steel is immediately quenched to below 250 deg.C to form a composite structure consisting of ferrite phase and quench-transformed phase of martensite and bainite or the like. Thus, a car steel plate is manufactured having a low yield ratio below 0.6, a high tensile strength above 40kg/mm<2> and superior corrosion resistance.
