Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A polyamine of the formula NH2(CH2)3NH(CH2)3NH(CH2)4NH2.
USE: Drugs having various physiological actions, e.g. protection of deoxyribonucleic acid against thermal denaturation, promotion of protein synthesis, inhibition of protein synthesis promotion by spermine, and activation of enzyme.
PROCESS: Bacterium bodies of highly thermophilic bacteria(Thermus thermophilus)HB8 are crushed, and centrifuged by adding 10% trichloroacetic acid. The supernatant liquid is chromatographed by a column of Dowex 50×4H+ resin [an ion exchange resin, Dow Chemical Co. (trade name)], eluted at a liner concentration gradient of H2OW6NHCl to give a tetramine fraction of HCl concentration of 3.7W 4.8N, which is chromatographed by a column of Diaion CK-10S [ a strongly basic anion exchange resin (trade name), Mitsubishi kasei kogyo KK], eluted by a buffer solution (pH 5.46) to give the desired polyamine immediately after the thermin fraction.
