Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a transfer device for electrophotography having a simple constitution, high reliability and high efficiency without causing transfer unevenness, by bundling conductive thin fibrous wires into a brush form, and lightly pressing to the photoreceptor from the back of the material being transferred.
CONSTITUTION: A bundle 11 of conductive thin fibrous wires is shaped into a brush form by means of a holder 12, and is positioned so as to lightly press against a photoreceptor 1 from the material being transferred, i.e. from the back of a paper 6. A lead wire 13 is connected with the bundle 11 of fibrous wires within the holder 12. When a potential is applied to the lead wire 13, the potential is applied to the boundle 11 of wires, so that the toner image on a photoreceptor 1 is transferred on the paper 6. The bundle 11 of wires ia made of conductive fibrous material, which is mostly carbon fibers or stainless steel fibers measuring about several microns to scores of microns in diameter. Thus, because of the fine wires, frictional resistance with the paper 6 is small. Besides, since innumerable wires contact with the paper 6, transfer unevenness never occurs. In addition, the constitution is simple and the reliability is high.
