Abstract

PURPOSE: To sense the number of rotation correctly in a simple constitution by winding rotating-speed sensing coils of a rotor around rotor teeth and sensing the pulsating voltages and pulsating frequencies generated in the coils due to the variation in magnetic resistance caused by the rotation.
CONSTITUTION: Copper-rod squirrel-cage conductors 6 are enclosed in slots 5 between rotor teeth 4 at an every specified interval around the periphery of a rotor core 3, and both ends of the conductors are shorted by end rings. Slots 13 and stator teeth 12 are formed at an every specified interval at the opposing portions of the squireel-cage conductors 6 spaced by a gap 7 on the inside of static core formed by cylimdrically laminated core of thin steel plates. Stator-exciting windings 14 are wound in the slots 13. Speed-sensing coils 15a and 15b, which are wound in the same direction by the same number of turns, are connected in series and installed to the stator teeth 12a and 12b. A speed-sensing unit is connected to the output terminals 16 and 17 of the sensing coils. In this constitution, the number of rotation can be correctly sensed.
