Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove excess electric charge that is to be stored in a photodiode and is a cause of a blooming, by providing a clamp circuit consisting a diode or transistor between the photodiode and the next step or a vertical scanning lines. CONSTITUTION:Several light receiving elements 1 are arranged in the both horizontal and vertical directions. A vertical read-out switch 2 and a horizontal read-out switch 3 are installed corresponding to each element 1. Then a horizontal scanning pulse 5 is applied to a control terminal of the horizontal read-out switches 3, while a vertical scanning pulse 4 is applied to the vertical read-out switches 2. Then a clamp circuit 21 is installed to each of the light receiving elements 1, and an output terminal of each clamp circuit 21 is connected to the next step.
