Abstract

PURPOSE: To change the size or guided direction of paper, by providing contact plates for guiding paper and stop rods for stopping the movement of the paper and by connecting the contact plates with the stop rods and moving either the contact plates or the stop rods.
CONSTITUTION: The paper discharged from a printer is guided by the contact plates 5, 6, 7 and stopped by the stop rods 3, 4. When the contact plate 5 is moved along a groove 9 in order to set the size of the paper, a shifting member 31 is moved together with the contact plate and the arbors 19, 20 of the stop rods 3, 4 are moved along grooves 19, 20 and a setting plate 41 is also moved. As a result, the paper is displaced by a quantity proportional to the movement of the contact plate 5 along the grooves 41a, 44a of the setting plate 41 and grooves 21, 22 provided on a rest. When a gear 63 is rotated by a motor 56, the shifting plate 31 swings to displace the stop rods 3, 4 to change the guided direction of the paper.
