Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to read two kinds of data by the same reader by providing a load sheet with a discrimination part for decimal and binary data.
CONSTITUTION: Load sheet 1 is provided with data column 2 and columns 1 and 13 are provided with a mark for decimal data and no mark for decimal data respectively, so that both data can be discriminated. This information is sequentially read by a card reader from line 1 and then inputted to a ring counter 8 with a discrimination bit of "1" for decimal or "0" for binary. The card reader is available for binary and decimal reads of marks on the card depending upon the contents of counter 8, and consequently there is no need to prepare another sheet for both cases and to sorting sheets previous to the read operation.
