Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent scraps from being packed full and make the shifting operation speedy by arranging shifting and moving rails between the roll stands of a working and a driving part.
CONSTITUTION: A shifting operation order being given to a driving cylinder 18, lateral shifting and moving rails 17 move to a set of rolls in the direction of right angles to the axis of the rolls 5, 6 of a rolling mill and connect respectively with a longitudinal series couple of rails and a lateral series couple of rails. Work roll shifting wheels 9, 10 of chock bearing boxes 7, 8 are connected with the shifting and fixing rails 15. Therefore, if the fixed rails 15 of the working part are connected with the rails on a working truck 22, the set of working rolls 5 can be put on the working truck 22 and then continously a new set of rolls 5 is carried into the determined location in the rolling mill from the working truck 22. If it has been carried in, these two sets of shifting and moving rails 17 are made to be shunted to another location by giving a return back command to the driving cylinder 18.
