Abstract

PURPOSE: To generate or receive signals with high reliability without using a flexible wire by supplying an ultrasonic signal to the excitation method of a magnetostrictive wire via a transformer.
CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with excitation method 4 which couples with magnetostrictive wire 1 and generates an ultrasonic signal in magnetostrictive wire 1, methods 2 and 3 which receive ultrasonic signals propagating in magnetostrictive wire 1, conductive wire 7 which moves movable part 5, and transformer 8 using wire 7 as its secondary coil. Then, excitation method 4, connected to wire 7 forming a loop together with wire 7, is supplied with a driving pulse via transformer 8. Next, signal (ef) relating to the position of pointer 5 is outputted from circuit FL and balancing motor BM is so driven that the deviation between input signal (ei) and signal (ef) will be zero.
