Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition having high adhesivity and excellent transparency, by compounding a specific resin obtained by the hydrogenation of a copolymer of cyclopentadiene or its alkyl substituted compound and indene or its alkyl-substituted compound, with an ethylene copolymer and a wax.
CONSTITUTION: 70W95wt% of cyclopentadiene, its lower alkyl (1W3C) substituted compound, or its Diels-Alder addition product and 5W30wt% of indene or its alkyl- substituted compound are polymerized at 200W300°C in the presence or absence of an inert hydrocarbon solvent. 10W90% Of the aromatic component in the copolymer thus obtained is hydrogenated to give a hydrogenated resin having a softening point of 60W130°C. The resin is compounded with a copolymer of a polar vinyl compound and ethylene, and a wax, to afford the objective hot-melt composition.
