Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a water-proof and wet-proof property of a diode by accommo dating a power distribution high voltage diode in an iginition coil body.
CONSTITUTION: Primary windings 22a, 22b and secondary windings 24a, 24b are wound around a laminated core 1. The terminating portion of the secondary windings 24a and 24b makes an angle of 180 degrees to each other and a high voltage diodes 27a, 27a', 27b and 27b' are mounted on the terminating portions. The diodes 27a to 27b' are accommodated in a casing 30, preferably sealed in resin 31. According to such a construction, when the primary winding 22a is turned conductive and the current passing through it is blocked, high voltage is induced in the secondary windings 24a and 24b and ignition plugs 29a' and 29b' are operated at the same time depending upon the polarity of the diode.
