Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify and make the equipment maintenance free and to improve protection and reliability of power supply system by constituting power supply circuit system in which each power supply circuit is equipped with a converter and eliminating a circuit breaker for a converter and power supply.
CONSTITUTION: Three-phase AC voltage received from a three-phase AC cables 5 via AC circuit brackers 6 is transformed to a proper voltage by a transformer 7 and is converted into DC by converters 8 and 8'. Plus side of each converter 8 and 8' are directly connected to the positive pole bus bars 10 and 10', without any breakers between them, and the bus bars 10 and 10' are directly connected to each electric train area 13 and 13', with DC current breaker for power supply omitted. The equipment is protected from short circuit on the power supply circuit, if any, by a three-phase AC breaker 6. As stated, even without DC breakers, the equipment is completely protected from troubles of short circuits. The simplified, maintenance-free equipment is thus obtained for improved protection and power supply reliability.
