Abstract

PURPOSE: Caprolactam byproduct ammonium sulfate waste liquid is concentrated up to a concentration with water content below 25wt%, precipitated ammonium salfate is separated, and waste liquid is naturally and idustrially treated.
CONSTITUTION: Caprolactam byproduct ammonium sulfate waste liquid is concentrated up to a 25wt% or less water content and precipitated ammonium sulfate is separated. The process of the invention is used to treat ammonium sulfate waste liquid byproduced in the caploractam production, which has been treated by crystallizer concentration crystallization and no longer able to produce crystal. The waste liquid in this state normally contains 40 to 60wt% of water, 15 to 40wt% of ammounium sulfate, 5 to 45wt% of organic impurity, and less than 5wt% of sodium sulfate. By concentrating this liquid, precipitated ammonium slufate is separated by centrifugal, filter operation for recovery.
