Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately analyze various smaples such as suspension, solid or livings, without effecting special treatments, by irradiating the samples with an optical energy so that the quantity converted into a thermal energy is detected by a thermal flow meter type detecting element. CONSTITUTION:A sample carriage 4 on which a sample 2 is placed is hermetically attached to a sample chamber 1 through a seal element 5. If an optical energy is irradiated upon the sample 2 in an interrupted manner through a second transparent window 3', a standard chamber 6 and a first transparent window 3, it is partially absorbed by the sample 2. A portion of the absorbed energy is converted into a thermal energy, which is transmitted to the gases surrounding the sample 2 so that the pressure in the chamber 1 is raised by the thermal expansion of the gases. Since the pressure rise due the gases having absorbed the optical energy in the chambers 6 and 1 is offset by each other, the gases are synchronized with the period of the optical interruption to vibrate between the chambers 1 and 6 through a passage 7. The resultant vibrations are detected as AC electric signals by a thermal flow meter type detecting element which is arranged in the passage 7.
