Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a permanent magnet material of improve coercived force, by adding a prescribed quantity of at least one of Zn, Cd, In and Sn to an R-Co-Mn- Fe alloy.
CONSTITUTION: At least one of Zn, Cd, In and Sn is added to the magnetic alloy comprising Co, Fe, Mn and R (R represents a rare earth element including Y and Sc), thereby making a mixture shown by a general formula R(Co1-u-v-wMnuFev Tw)z where 0<u≤0.3, 0.05≤v≤0.5, 0.001≤w≤0.2, 6.5≤z≤9, preferably 7.5≤z≤8.5 and T denotes at least one of Zn, Cd, In and Sn. When the powder of the magnetic alloy is solidified with a resin or non-magnetic metal, the volume percentage of the powder of the magnetic alloy is preferably 65 to 90% and the grain diameter of at least 90% of the powder is desirably 3 to 50μ.
