Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition of improved storage stability, by incorporating a specific amount of a particular acrylic polymerizable plasticizer in a mixture of a vinyl chloride resin, a high-molecular weight unsaturated polyester resin, and styrene, to restrain sharp rise in viscosity and gelation during blending.

CONSTITUTION: The following components are first prepared: a) 5W50 parts by wt% of a vinyl chloride resin, b) 10W60 parts by wt% of an unsaturated polyester having an average condensation degree ≥4 and a molecular weight ≥100, c) 5W40 parts by wt% of a polymerizable plasticizer consisting of at least one sort of compound selected from ones of the formulae (A is a compound having two or more OHs at its end, or a residue of a compound having at least one ester or ether linkage and two or more OHs at its end; X is H, halogen, etc.; n and m are each 1W3), d) ≤40 parts by wt% of styrene, and e) 0.2W3 parts by wt% of a polymerization initiator. A vinyl chloride plastisol obtained by mixing the component a) and part of the component c) is blended with a mixture of the components b) and d), or that of the components b), c), and d), followed by adding the rest to obtain the objective composition.
