Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a hot wire welded joint which is highly water-tight while welding by burying a metal wire spirally in an inner peripheral surface, attaching a rubber ring to the interior for an inlet in which one edge of a connecting pipe is inserted and by passing a current through the metal wire. CONSTITUTION:A metal wire 3 (length of 0.6-1.0 phi is suitable) like a stainless steel wire is buried spirally at 3-6mm pitches in the inner peripheral surface and an annular groove 21 is provided at the interior to form an inlet 22 by attaching a rubber ring 4 to this annular groove of 21. In order to connect connecting pipes 1 and 1' by using this joint 2, after connecting pipes 1 and 1' are inserted respectively into the inlet 22, the metal wire 3 is electrified at the specified time and the inner peripheral surface of the inlet 22 and the outer peripheral surface of connecting pipes 1 and 1' are welded and connected. The metal wire 3 is designed to touch completely the outer peripheral surface of connecting pipes 1 and 1' and to bring out a knotch in the inner peripheral surface of the joint for a break-proof feature at this section. Besides, to keep water-tight by inserting the rubber ring 4 into the further section ensures a water leak-proof feature.
