Abstract
PURPOSE: A heating element capable of being heated by oxygen only, consisting of a heat-resistant vessel with an opening, wherein a filter containing a heating insecticide is put on a heating composition in which generation of heat is caused by oxygen.
CONSTITUTION: The heating composition 5 in which generation of heat is caused by oxygen [e.g., a mixture of 2 parts by wt. of anhydrous salt of sodium sulfide (an average particle diameter of 100μ), 1 part by wt. of carbon black (particle diameter 16mμ) and 1 part of uermiculite (an average particle diameter of 50μ) is contained in the heating vessel 1 with the opening 2. The heat-resistant filter 3 (e.g., a glass fiber filter) impregnated with a heating insecticide, capable of transmitting oxygen but not the heating composition, is placed on the composition. The opening 2 is sealed tightly with the oxygen-impermeable sheet 6 so that they are stored. In using, the sheet is poened and the filter 3 is brough into contact with air.
