Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve dimensional precision and forming speed even where a thicker material is used by integrally assemblying upper and lower metallic molds having upper and lower forming blades and mounting the assembly on a press so that corrugated fins can be formed by only moving the press up and down.
CONSTITUTION: Forming blades 1W5 are grouped into upper three and lower two. Of the upper forming blades 1, 2, and 3, one on the material feed side is fixed to a metallic mold 8 and the other two are projected and fitted to a hydraulic elevation holder 10 at the same level. Two lower forming blades 4 and 5 are so fixed to a power metallic mold 13 as to mesh with the upper forming blades. Upper and lower strippers 171W174 for stripping the formed fins from the blades are provided in front of and in the rear of the blades 4 and 5 in such a manner as to support the side faces of the blades 4 and 5. The upper and lower metallic molds are installed in a press and a belt-like material 23 is continuously corrugated by the blades 1W5.
